Tattoo FAQ
Does it
hurt? This is probably the most common question
asked about tattoos. In short, getting a tattoo does
hurt. After all, you are having needles pierce your skin
rapidly.
However, there are a few factors that
affect the pain value of a tattoo. It depends on your
personal pain threshold, how quickly your body adapts to
the feeling, where you're getting your tattoo on your
body.and how big the tattoo is.
Getting tattooed in certain places does hurt more than others.
It's a given that boney areas of the body tend to hurt more,
especially the rib area. Also big back pieces can take a little
out of you.
The good news is, that the pain is bearable and big pieces are
not always done in one session. But again it is up to the
indivdual.
Where should I get it on my
body? This is purely an individual choice. The
main thing to consider is the type of tattoo that you
want to get. It's best to consult with your tattoo artist
about the suitability of your tattoo for that part of
your body.
Also, you need to think about the visibility of your tattoo in
relation to your values, career, etc. For example, if your job
doesn't allow tattoos to be visible, then you probably don't
want a tattoo on your neck.
What are good tattoos? Again, up to the individual. What may
look good to some, may be horrible to others. Do your
research, talk to tattoo artists, find out what part of
your body you want the tattoo to be at.
How much does it cost?
Tattoos vary in costs. As a minimum, you should expect to spend
at least $100 for a small tattoo. Some studios will charge per
hour, some will charge by design.
Keep in mind, Good tattoos aren't cheap and Cheap tattoos
aren't good.
How do I look after my tattoo? Different studios will have they're own
ways of looking after your tattoo. Make sure you get
their clear instructions and follow
them.
In general: - After you get your tattoo, your
tattooist will bandage it. - Remove the bandage after about 1 hour
and gently wash your tattoo with soap. - 'Pat dry' your tattoo, do not rub it or
wipe your tattoo. - Apply some cream which you can normally
get from your tattooist, otherwise buy some bepanthen
cream from the chemist. Do not rebandage your tattoo
again. - Follow this procedure at least twice a
day for a bit over a week.
Do not: - Scratch your new
tattoo - Pick at your new tattoo when it
scabs - Expose your tattoo to direct sunlight
or tanning beds for at least a month - Swim at the beach or pool for at least
a month - Keep touching your tattoo during the
healing process.

BEST Tattoo
Gallery - Chopper Tattoo
Average User
Rating:
Chopper Tattoo is a HUGE,
searchable gallery of Tattoo designs, that
users can download and modify to their
liking. Many more get added all the time. The
one time fee covers all downloads (instead of
per item), which makes it amazing value. And
best of all, you can pay a smaller fee ($19.95)
to get 30-day access, rather than
the unlimited-access $39.99 fee. Chopper
Tatto is by far the best option for your next
(or first!) Tattoo. I have Chopper Tattoos on
my own body, so what better testimonial can I
put forward!

# 3 Tattoo Gallery - 'The
Tattoo Designs' Average User
Rating:
This top-notch Tattoo gallery was one I
desperatly wanted to rate higher, as its quite
flash and has some amazingly nice Tattoos.
However, the searchability and range let it
down a little, which is why I placed it third.
Try Chopper out first, and if you are still
stuck without a beauty (which I wouldnt
believe!) give 'The Tattoo Designs' a whirl.
You might eventually strike gold here...

# 4 Tattoo Gallery - Tattoo
Fever Average User Rating:

Tattoo Fever is an up and coming star in the
tattoo gallery world, and mark my words, it
will be world class given some more time! What
made me rate it fourth here, is that it did not
have the number of designs to warrant beating
aside the others. Its still had some awesome,
unique content, and was a breeze to browse
through! Keep your eyes peeled...this is one to
watch!
